The Regional Burn Center utilizes a multidisciplinary, team-oriented approach to patient care. Heading the team are surgeons specializing in plastic and reconstructive surgery and burn management, along with physicians and surgeons from other medical specialties, specially trained nurses, and allied health professionals in the areas of physical and occupational therapy, psychology, nutritional services, specialized pediatric rehabilitation and social services.
Nurses, therapists, and physicians at our Regional Burn Center have taken approved Advanced Burn Life Support courses*. These courses provide our staff the skills and knowledge to assess and manage patients with serious burns during the critical first 24 hours after their injuries. Because of their ability and expertise, the staff of the Regional Burn Center at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center saves lives.
