Diabetes education is the most important aspect of successful self-management of diabetes. Our group classes cover a variety of topics in diabetes care and are taught by expert staff.
The Diabetes Center staff includes dietitians (RDs), nurse educators (RNs), clinical pharmacists (PharmDs), physician assistants (PAs) and physicians (MDs). Our nursing and clinical pharmacist staff includes certified diabetes educators (CDEs), who are specially trained and nationally certified. Our CDEs offer one-on-one sessions, as well as group classes, to teach patients and family members how to take care of diabetes and how to stay healthy. Utilizing hospital approved protocols and under the guidance of physicians, our educators are trained to initiate and adjust medications to improve diabetes control for our patients. Our staff members include individuals who are fluent in English, Spanish, Vietnamese, Mandarin Chinese and Cantonese.
