Congratulations to SCVMC's Associate Chief of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM & R), Dr. Henry Huie

Congratulations to SCVMC's Associate Chief of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM & R), Dr. Henry Huie, recipient of the 2017 Jose C. Montero Excellence in Teaching Award from the Stanford PM & R Residency Program. 

​This prestigious award is voted on by PM & R residents at the Stanford School of Medicine. These residents receive education and training at Stanford University Medical Center, Children's Hospital Oakland, the Palo Alto Veteran's Administration (VA) Hospital, St. Mary's Hospital in San Francisco, and SCVMC. It is the top award given to the best clinical instructor in all of these training facilities.

Among his many distinctions, Dr. Huie is a Clinical Instructor (Affiliated) and the Residency Site Director for the Stanford PM & R residency program here at SCVMC. He holds a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from UC, Davis, received his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from New York Medical College, and completed his PM & R Residency at Stanford. During his final year of training at Stanford, he was the Chief Resident of the PM & R Residency Program. He went on to complete a fellowship in Traumatic Brain Injury at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center prior to joining the staff at SCVMC in July of 2012. Dr. Huie is Board Certified in PM & R and holds subspecialty board certification in Brain Injury Medicine.
