2018 Sobrato Cancer Center Certification by the American Society of Clinical Oncology – Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (ASCO-QOPI)

The Sobrato Cancer Center has achieved the American Society of Clinical Oncology – Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (ASCO-QOPI) certification. It is the only public government hospital in California to receive this certification, which demonstrates a commitment to excellence and ongoing quality improvement

2004 American Diabetes Association Education Recognition Certificate Program

The Diabetes Center at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center’s Valley Specialty Center was certified in 2004 and is currently awaiting a final recertification decision by the ADA

The Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) is a global program through the World Health Organization to encourage the implementation of the Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding and the International Code of Marketing of Breast-milk Substitutes

2018 Renal Care Center Recertification by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)

Every two years, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) surveys programs for quality and safety. In 2018, the Outpatient Hemodialysis Unit in the Renal Care Center underwent a recertification survey and is currently awaiting final results

2018 Sleep Lab Accreditation

The Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC) surveyed the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, which is positioned to have streamlined billing and revenue collection processes for the Sleep Lab operations. All of the Sleep Lab technicians and staff are certified or registered by a national board (either Respiratory or Polysomnography). This requirement ensures professional technicians will be performing all of our sleep studies ​

2018 American Society of Health-System Pharmacists Survey

The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) surveyed the pharmacy residency program. Although the program will not find out official results until the spring of 2019, the residency program consistently received positive feedback from surveyors and is confident in achieving full accreditation from ASHP
