The Respiratory Care Department at SCVMC is an integral component of the patient care team. You will have the chance to enhance your skills and education by working on diverse and challenging cases associated with a major teaching hospital averaging 35 ventilators per day. The Respiratory Care Department encourages professional growth and development through a generous tuition reimbursement program and an in-house/in-service competency program.
The Working Environment: Teamwork & Opportunities
The Respiratory Care Department places a strong emphasis on technical excellence and teamwork. Opportunities to work in nine intensive care units include a level I trauma center, one of only three in the area. The Rehabilitation Trauma Center offers another unique intensive care environment.
Within these settings you will have the opportunity to work with extensive therapist/patient protocols including bronchodilators, CPT, oxygen, IPV, and mechanical ventilator weaning. Respiratory Care Practitioners (RCPs) may also participate in inter-hospital and intra-hospital transports for neonates and pediatric patients. You will work with state-of-the-art technology including Servoi critical care ventilators, the VDR4 high frequency ventilator, and the Jet and Oscillator in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
The Respiratory Care Department at SCVMC is currently looking for licensed Respiratory Care Practitioners who are motivated to enhance their career. SCVMC is a great place to begin or continue your work. While SCVMC is seeking experienced RCPs, new graduates are also encouraged to apply.
