NEONATAL INTENSIVE CARE UNIT
MINIMIZING MORBIDITY AND MORTALITY IN THE SMALLEST INFANTS
Smart Start is a delivery room resuscitation program that improves the survival of very low birth weight infants and helps prevent brain injury. It includes delayed cord clamping (DCC) and began July 1, 2007. Currently we attempt to provide a minimum of 3 minutes of DCC for all babies (January 1, 2018).
