CONTINUOUS BLOOD GLUCOSE MONITORING

The continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) evaluation is a procedure which is performed on patients with type 1 and type diabetes, and in some patient who have gone through gastric bypass surgery. It will record glucose levels every 5 minutes for 24 hours a day for three – seven days.

The recorded information will provide your healthcare provider with insights into how your diet, medication, and daily activities really affect your glucose levels. Including identify dangerous lows at night or during the day; and d etect how high your glucose really goes after meals .

Therapy adjustments made with CGM data have been proven to: reduce the frequency and duration of highs and lows and to reduce A1C levels, which can lead to reduced risk of complications
