In response to the COVID-19 pandemic the Ambulatory Health Education Department (AHED) stopped all in-person classes.
For now, we only offer telephone and video visits for the following programs (Microsoft Teams app is required for video classes):
- Healthier Living
- Maternal Health & Baby Education
- Childbirth Preparation
- Successful Lactation
- Mother & Newborn Care
- Gentle Yoga (Microsoft Teams app is required.)
- Prenatal Yoga (Microsoft Teams app is required.)
- Wellness Classes (Microsoft Teams app is required.)
- Tai Chi
- Mindful Meditation
- Sound Healing
Please note, these virtual/telephone classes are subject to change due to COVID-19.
We will re-start in-person classes when it is safe to do so.

Welcome to the Ambulatory Health Education Department (AHED). At our department, we believe that health should be the first priority!
We offer FREE health education and wellness classes to all Santa Clara Valley Medical Center patients who are seeing a primary care provider. Classes are in English and some are in Spanish, Vietnamese, and Hindi.
All programs are designed to help you feel better, prepare you for any changes, and improve overall health, so you can lead a full and meaningful life.

Healthier Living Program
We provide health education and wellness classes to help you improve your overall wellbeing.
All classes are offered FREE of charge to all Santa Clara Valley Medical Center patients who are seeing their primary care provider and some community clinic partner’s patients. Primary care providers can be medical doctors, nurse practitioners, or physician assistants.
Please call our department at (408) 885-5436 on weekdays from 8:00am to 5:00pm for more information about our classes and programs and to schedule a class. If no one is available to take your call, please leave a detailed message with a call-back number. Your call will be returned within 24 hours.
