Our Services

The Division of Neurosurgery at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center (SCVMC), in conjunction with Stanford University Medical Center Department of Neurosurgery, provides comprehensive neurological surgery services to our patients. 

Neurosurgical faculty at SCVMC are equipped to handle all aspects of the neurologic care of a patient.  

We partner with our Trauma colleagues to provide neuro-trauma care in the acute setting, and with our Rehabilitation colleagues to extend that care into the long-term recovery period. Patients with traumatic brain injury (TBI) and acute spinal cord injury (SCI) benefit the most from this collaboration. With several ongoing clinical trials (Stem cell therapy, Transcranial magnetic stimulation etc.), SCVMC is at the forefront of research and innovation for TBI and SCI. 

We also collaborate with our colleagues in neurology, medical-oncology, radiation-oncology, neuro-radiology, interventional-radiology, vascular surgery, cardio-thoracic surgery, endocrinology, ENT, ophthalmology, plastic surgery, pediatrics, and anesthesia, among others, to provide comprehensive care to our patients with neurological disorders. 

We have access to the latest in technological innovations to make care for our patients safer and less invasive in the operative room. This includes, but is not limited to, the latest in imaging technology (i-CT), endoscopic and microscopic technology, neuro-navigation, neuro-monitoring, laser, radio-frequency and ultrasonic technology. ​Combining innovative technology with a core group of professionals (OR technicians, circulating nurses, scrub nurses etc.) dedicated to neurosurgery leads to successful outcomes and greater satisfaction for our patients and their families.
